Difference Between Endogenous and Exogenous

Working Principle of Endogenous Backwash System

The water to be treated comes from the inlet pipe to the two-position three-way valves. Under control of the valves, the water goes through each disc filter unit while the system is doing the filtration process. Water after filtering comes from inside of the filter units to the outlet port. When the filter units gather more impurities and the pressure difference reaches the setting value or the system reaches the setting time, the system will shift to backwash mode. For example, if the PLC gives a signal to the two-position three-way valve of the first filter unit, the valve will close the inlet port and open the drain port while the flow direction will change. The filtered water comes from the outlet pipe to the inside of the filter unit. With water pressure the filter unit generates a centrifugal helical effect which moves the particles away from the discs, and the sewage after backwash will discharge through the drain port. After that the filter unit comes back to filtration mode, and the system will make next filter unit do backwash mode. So the filter unit will do backwash one by one, when some unit is under backwash mode, others can still keep filtration state. When the pressure of water comes from outlet pipe is under 0.2MPa, an electric butterfly valve is needed to be installed in outlet pipe to meet the pressure requirements for backwash.

Working Principle of Exogenous Backwash System

The water to be treated comes from the inlet pipe to the two-position three-way valve on the inlet side. Under control of the valves, the water goes through each disc filter unit while the system is doing the filtration process. Water after filtering comes from inside of each filter unit to the two-position three-way valves on the outlet side. Under control of the valves, the water goes to the outlet pipe. When the filter units gather more impurities and the pressure difference reaches the setting value or the system reaches the setting time, the system will shift to backwash mode. For example, if the PLC gives a signal to two-position three-way valves on both sides of the first filter unit, the valve on the inlet side will close the inlet port and open the drain port, while the outlet side valve will close the outlet port and open the backwash port. Backwash water comes into the filter and brings the dirty to the drain port. After backwash the unit will come back to filtration mode. The system will make the filter unit do backwash one by one. When one unit is under backwash mode, others can still keep filtration state.

 


 

Working Principle of Filtration State:

Water to be treated comes from the inlet port into the surface of the disc cartridge. Since discs are tightly pressed by the spring on the top of the filter cartridge, with the water going through the outside into the inside of the disc cartridge, the impurity will be trap ped on the intersection of discs. After that the clean water comes out from inside of the filter to the outlet port.

 

Working Principle of Backwash State:

When the pressure difference reaches the setting value or the system reaches the setting time, the system will automatically enter the backwash mode. The PLC controls the valve and changes the water flow direction. Backwash water comes from the outlet port, and closes the one-way diaphragm on the bottom of the disc cartridge. Then the backwash water can only go through from nozzle channels on the interior center of the cartridge. High pressure of the nozzle channels tightens the spring and loses discs, meanwhile the backwash water squirts out from the channel along the tangent direction of discs and rotates and separates discs evenly, taking the impurities away from the discs. After backwash state, water flow direction changes and discs are pressed again, and the filter will enter filtration state.
